About the work: Zero Hour is an autobiographical documentary theatre work rooted in Tea Alagić’s experience of growing up during the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The story moves between past and present, tracing a young woman’s escape from war, the memories carried across displacement, and the complicated inheritance of that history within a family.

Through personal testimony, memory, documentary material, and live performance, the piece brings together different generations and perspectives. It explores war and its aftermath, displacement, motherhood, identity, belonging, and the ways personal history continues to shape the present.

The work is an evolving theatrical journey between Bosnia and New York, between childhood and motherhood, and between what is remembered, what is inherited, and what can never fully be left behind.
