About the Work:
Inspired by Tea Alagić’s own experiences during the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Zero Hour: Part I follows Dea, a young woman forced to leave her home in Mostar as violence tears her country apart. Her journey through unfamiliar cities, borders, and temporary shelters transforms her into a refugee searching for safety and a new sense of home.

First developed as Alagić’s thesis project at Yale School of Drama, the play moves between memory and lived experience to explore displacement, survival, fractured identity, and the lasting impact of war.
