About the Work:

Set against the Trojan War, Shakespeare’s Troilus and Cressida follows the doomed love between the Trojan prince Troilus and Cressida, whose father has defected to the Greeks. Their relationship unfolds within a world shaped by war, political bargaining, betrayal, and shifting loyalties.

Far from a traditional romance, the play examines the fragility of love and ideals in a world where honor, desire, and power are constantly being negotiated. Shakespeare’s dark and complex vision questions the myths of war, heroism, and romantic love.
