About the Work:
Preparadise Sorry Now, by Rainer Werner Fassbinder, is inspired by the crimes of British killers Ian Brady and Myra Hindley. Fassbinder’s experimental play places acts of extreme violence beside scenes of ordinary social behavior. Rather than offering a conventional narrative, the work uses repetition and fragmented language to expose cruelty, conformity, and authoritarian impulses hidden beneath everyday life.

Tea Alagić directed the production for the Ensemble Company for the Performing Arts in New Haven. Preparadise Sorry Now examines violence, moral responsibility, and the conditions that allow brutality to become normalized.
