About the Work:
Agamemnon returns home victorious from the Trojan War, unaware that his wife, Klytemnestra, has been waiting to avenge the sacrifice of their daughter, Iphigenia. His return awakens an older cycle of violence and revenge, bringing the consequences of war directly into the home.
Aeschylus’ tragedy explores war, power, justice, grief, revenge, and the inheritance of violence across generations. In Tea Alagić’s production, the ancient story was placed within the frame of a post-war world, asking what remains when the war is over—and how the violence of the past continues to shape the present.
