Tea Alagić performed the role of Ophelia in Sulayman Al-Bassam’s award-winning adaptation of William Shakespeare’s Hamlet. Premiering at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the production received the Scotsman Fringe First Award and later won Best Director and Best Performance at the Cairo International Festival for Experimental Theatre. Widely acclaimed for reimagining Shakespeare’s tragedy within a contemporary Middle Eastern political landscape, The Al-Hamlet Summit has become a landmark of international theatre.
