About the Work:
PI = 3.14 was conceived and directed by Yoshiko Chuma and created with Tea Alagić and the School of Hard Knocks. This interdisciplinary dance-theater work connects artists and experiences across Hiroshima, New York, Belgrade, Sarajevo, and Kabul. Through movement, text, music, and video, the project explores war, displacement, borders, memory, and human connection.
Tea Alagić performed as herself in the 2002 production at La MaMa E.T.C. in New York.
