About the Work:
The Marriage of Maria Braun is a stage adaptation of Rainer Werner Fassbinder’s film, bringing its portrait of postwar Germany into a live theatrical setting.

Separated from her soldier husband shortly after their wedding, Maria Braun reinvents herself as an independent and successful businesswoman. Her personal transformation mirrors Germany’s rise from wartime destruction to economic prosperity, revealing the compromises beneath public success and private desire.

Tea Alagić directed the production and designed its set.
